Good Morning Everyone

The sun is shining, the birdies are singing, the breeze is up and I am slurping my customary high-test. I got on my scale this morning and am down another pound, so that is two, this week. Hardly stellar, but at least I am headed back in the right direction. (Week before last was a wash.) Current weight is 284, even. Now to gather momentum and finish grinding out this hundred... Hopefully by the end of this year. :D

William and Patrick and the furry ones are all still snoozing and I am goofing around on my puter and have The Weather Channel on in the background. I saw the saddest story on that channel, yesterday. A man in Tuscaloosa, Alabama lost his home in a nasty tornado and was looking through the rubble to see if he could salvage anything. One thing he got out was a case containing the flag that draped his father's casket at that man's funeral. Nothing of any intrinsic value but precious to him, obviously. He set it outside the pile of rubble and someone passing by walked off with it. Who the fuck does that? How can anyone do something so low? How can someone deliberately inflict that kind of pain on a fellow human being?

Look, I understand that people can feel desperate in crisis situations. People are in shock and they do things that perhaps they wouldn't ordinarily do. If someone is hungry or thirsty, I can see forgiving taking food or water. But to take a flag in a case? What possible use could that be to someone else? Sometimes people are just monsters with no conscious.

Ack! I am out of coffee! BRB.

Ahhh... That's better. Mama has her second cup of go juice. I am so hooked on caffeine. lol

I am slurping my water as well as coffee and trying to decide what to put in my growling tummy. Oatmeal? Eggs? I am leaning toward eggs. I have some mushrooms... :D

Okay, my posting mojo just up and died on me and my teeny tiny little brain is empty of thought so I am going to toddle along. Now is a good time to read all of your new posts.

Oh! If you follow me/have my blog on your blogroll and I haven't found my way over to you to do the same, please leave me your blog URL in a comment on this post and I will come over, follow and add you. I know that I have new followers but getting to blogs through clicking the little icons in my followers gadget is so hit and miss that I have all but given up on that method. So please, blog link spam me, here. :D

Okay, I am outie. Later. :)

Never Frakking Mind!

I tried to change my url. I lost my blogroll and I disappeared off of every ones blogrolls. Ack! I was gone! So, I just changed back to my old url and I am back and I don't think I had outta mess with it, anymore. *sigh* I will figure this all out, one day. I usually manage to figure things out, as I go along, given enough time and determination.

Computer shit drives me insane.

On a stick.

Might as well have lunch, now. I can shower after.

Epic Fail

If you grabbed my button, please remove it from your page. It is linking to another blog. One that hasn't been updated in seven years. One that only had two entries and it out there, floating around, with my frakking url. GAH!!!! I hate that guy, whoever he is!

Of course, stupid me had to go and create this url without Googling first to be sure someone else wasn't using it.

*sigh* I suck.

Again.

The button I made for my other blog works just fine, so I do know how to do it. I just can't get one to link here. Waaaahhh!!!

Stupid guy who used my url first, then abandoned his blog, leaving me in the lurch.

In other news, today is a good day with food. And water is okay. Not stellar. But sufficient. I'll drink all my water tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day, today. Sunny and about seventy. How much prettier can it get, in March?

Ooops. I Are a Skrew Up!

When I made my button, I put one to many .com in the direction line of the code and it wasn't working. It is fixed, now and should work properly. So, if you have grabbed my button, please discard the old one and grab the new one. Or you can just remove the additional .com in your HTML/JAVASCRIPT gadget. I am so sorry about that. Here I am, trying to whore my blog and I can't even solicit properly.

Some blog whore I am. :P

A sincere thank you to RNTGirl for letting me know. And telling me what I needed to do to make it work. *big kisses!*

And yes... The misspelling in my title was indeed, deliberate. My attempt at being cute. :P

So, how is everyone this fine Sunday morning? I am okay. I held steady on the scale. Not surprising, considering how puffy I am. *sigh* It never fails. I suck. lol Hopefully next Sunday will be better.

I am sure that actually sticking more closely to plan wouldn't hurt! (Yes, that was directed at me. ;))

It is going to be a gorgeous day. The sun is shining, the birdies are singing and it is already warming up nicely. If this keeps up, we are going to be able to start planting Spring flowers, soon. Pansies first, probably, as they are most cold tolerant in case we get a late cold snap. Then petunias, portulaca, daisies of different varieties, especially African daisies, geraniums, alyssum, million bells... I need to get some nice trailers, too for hanging baskets. Maybe I'll try my hand at some dahlias and some other varieties I have never attempted, this year. I can't wait! I love to grow flowers. :D

Is it just me or is my blog now annoyingly pastel, even for my oh-so-girlie standards? lol

Okay, I am still 3/4 brain dead. I need another cup of leaded and to start on my water for the day. I'll catch all you fine folk, later.

Happy Sunday :D

Hello everyone. :D

It is a cool but sunny Sunday morning. Almost afternoon, now. I slept a little later than normal, had coffee, fooled around with my blog, (I will do a post on how to get three columns and have cutsie background and so forth without scary mucking about in HTML and having to backup and so forth, if anyone is interested. Just drop me a comment. :D) had a quick brunch of a light Nutri Grain waffle with a fried egg (in Pam, of course ;)) with a half ounce of light cheese. Yummy, filling, protein and cheese and all for only 185 calories. :D

I need to go get in the shower, in a bit. I would like to get to the drugstore and return some stuff, do a little running around and get out of this frakking house for a bit.

My eating was really good, yesterday. I ended the day on target and feeling better and better about myself. Now to keep the momentum. I am allowing myself to slide a bit too much, lately and it is beginning to scare me a little. I can make that work for me. Yes, I can.

Okay, I don't really have any deep thoughts or profound truths to share. I just wanted to natter, a little.

Tagged

I was tagged by Kirsten to answer some questions. Why the fuck can't I turn off the bold? I keep clicking, it just does bold... So I am rolling with it and this entire entry will be bold. Stupid Blogger fucked up copy and paste bullshit. Bah!

So, I need to answer these four questions then pass on four questions.

So, here we go.  :D

Question #1: Do you think losing weight “this time” will be different? Why or why not?

I do think it will be different, this time. This time I have a better hold on the shit swirling through my head and heart. I am fighting with myself less and feel stronger and more confident about my run at it, this time around.  (And now, I am not typing in bold. *sigh* Blogger is seriously fucking with me. lol)

Question #2: What is your philosophy/personal experience with tattoos?

My philosophy is, it's your skin, do whatever the heck you want with it. I don't have any tattoos, but I haven't ruled out the possibility of getting one, one of these days.

Question #3: What’s your favorite ride at amusement parks and why?

Roller coasters. I have an extreme fear of heights and most rides freak me out. Weirdly enough, I feel safe on roller coasters.

Question #4: In what ways are you blessed and grateful today?

I am thankful to have a healthy family, a roof and employed husband and son. Life might not be easy street, but we are lucky and I know it.

Okay, now for four new questions. (Get ready for the lamest questions, ever. lol)

Question #1 If you could eat any food at all for 24 hours without gaining weight, what would it be?

Question #2  Briefly describe how you would re-write the life experience of your favourite character in a book or movie.

Question #3 What female family member has had the biggest positive influence on you and what was the most meaningful advice she gave you?

Question #4  If your blog were eaten by cyber roaches and gone for good, what would you do different in your new blog?

Okay, now to tag some victims participants. Hmmm...

My Lady Debbie :D

My Lady Kristin :D

My Lady Lapband :D

My Lady Leanne :D

If you have already been tagged, hate being tagged, have not time to be tagged, I'm sorry. :D But if you feel like playing, please answer them and pass on four new questions to four people.

Okay, I need to wrap this up. I have to pee like a racehorse and Husband is itching to get the laptop so he can check his e-mail. Should I let him? ^^

A Call For Help

I would really appreciate it if someone who knows how to use the feature to make pictures, blog awards and so forth into a slides how would zap me with a clue how to do it. I tried, (but I couldn't figure it out, of course lol) as I wanted to put my awards into a slide show so that they take up less room in my sidebar. I love them but they are beginning to clutter up the place a little bit. lol And besides, that slide show thingamajig is so. cool. And I want one. :D

Thank you. <3

Follow Up to How To Jazz Up Your Blog ~~~ Headers

Good Saturday morning, everyone.

So, I just realised that I totally flaked and forgot to do my how to on headers to go with your new snazzy blog background. Please to forgive? You know what they say... The brain is the first thing to go. Tho personally I believe it is the internal structure of our boobs. But that is another post for another time.

A header is a great way to "complete" the look of your blog. It is like adding accessories to your outfit. And the possibilities are practically endless. You can match your header to your background, like the look my blog is currently sporting or you can mix it up and contrast or coordinate. Say, a background with flowers, hearts and angel wings, then a header with skulls and crossbones or a background in stripes and a header with a floral motif. A pink background with a black trimmed header... You get my drift. :D

Applying a header to your blog is easy. First, go to different sites that have headers for free or if you want something custom, you can have it designed for a fee. I linked some sites in this post. There are others, too. The sites may call their headers banners, headers. They may be stashed under Headers, Banners, Extras, Accessories. Just sift around, you will find them.

Like with your background, size matters! If your blog is two column minima, you must choose a header designed for two column minima. Same for three column minima. Once you have found the header you like, click on the sample image to bring up it's full sized counterpart. this is a very important step! If you don't retrieve the right size image, installing it won't work.

Once you have the full size image up, you will need to save or snag it to your computer. If you have never snagged images, it is a snap. Just right click on the image and a dialog box will appear with a long list of options. Choose Save As (or Save to Computer or whatever your operating system offers) and left click the option. A second box will pop up in the upper left hand corner of your screen. It will show a thumbnail of your image (in newer operating systems, older ones might just show a line of text and or numbers) If it just shows text or numbers, be sure to re name the image so that you can find it when you go to upload it to your blog. Then click the save button and you now have the header image stored in your computer's hard drive.

If you wish to install your header with your current title and description (if you have one) showing, simply go to New Post, then Dashboard or right to the Design tab and click on it. At the top you will see the spot to add a header. Click Edit. A box will open up. You will want to upload it from your computer so click Browse. That will open a window and allow you access to your image storage. Find your image (different operating systems work differently, you might have to sift around and click on stuff until you get the hang of your own system) and click on it. There will be a button that says Open. Click it and the image will upload to Blogger. Or you can just double click the image and it will upload... Either way works equally well. :D

Once your image uploads, you can install it how you wish. If you want your current title and font to show on your header, choose the install behind title and description option. That one should already be selected, actually. Just be sure it is, then click Save. And when you get back to the design page, Save, again and you have a new header.

If you want to add custom lettering to your header and/or images, like photos, try FotoFlexer to add them. This site is super easy to use and with a little practice and so forth you can do a lot of cool stuff to your header. Don't forget to click on Transparency to have your background colours show around your lettering. A big white box isn't pretty on an otherwise pretty header! lol If you choose to add your own lettering and images, you will need to select the next option Instead Of, rather than Behind, so that your lettering and so forth will show, rather than the default Blogger font.

FotoFlexer lets you do glitter fonts, too. I think that you need to host your header on a hosting site, like Photobucket that supports animated images, then upload it to Blogger from there, if you want the glitter text to work. In fact, Photobucket has the same image enhancing software as FotoFlexer, so you can upload your header from your 'puter to Photobucket, fancy it up, then save it there and upload it here... I think. I haven't tried that, yet. If you do and it works, please give a head's up? And if I try it an it works, I will definitely post a how to. :D

Okay, so there you have it, ducks. How to get your header. I hope this helps if you have been wanting one and weren't quite sure how to go about it.

How to Jazz Up Your Blog

I have read some comments in different blogs about bloggers who would like to jazz up their blog, change the look and make it more them. Well my friends, this is an easy-peasy proposition. Really! Trust me. If I can do this, anyone can because I am most likely the least tech savvy person on the face of this great green globe and I can do it. :D

A couple of things before we begin. The sites to which I will link require that your blog template settings is the Minima setting. If you blog isn't Minima, you will have to change that. You can do that by delving into the settings feature on your dashboard. Most sites have designs for two and three column Minima templates.

If you don't want to have the Minima template, there are sites for backgrounds for your blog, too but I am not familiar with them. But the process for installing them should be pretty similar.

Okay, now that you are sure that you have a Minima template, let's go shopping! :D

There are a ton of sites on the webz that offer pretty designs for blogs for free. If you want something highly customized, you can find sites that will custom design something for you for a fee.

Here are some links:

The Cutest Blog on the Block. This is where I found my current background.

Hot Bliggety Blog

Shabby Blogs

Dotty Dot Dot Designs

Cute and Cool Designs... A particular favourite of mine!

There are many, many sites to suite every taste and blog template.

*It is vitally important that you chose the right background type. If your blog is two column (like mine) you must choose a background for two column blogs. If your blog is three column, you must choose a background for three column blogs. They are not interchangeable.*

Okay, now that you have gone shopping and have found the background that makes you squeal, it is time to make it yours! All yours! Muahahahahaha!

Oops! Sorry. Got a little carried away, there.

When you find your design, make sure that you have a second browser open and your blog is up and you are signed in. Now, capture the code for the background. This is easy as falling off a chair. Some sites have you click on the design to find the code, some have the code right under the design. Copy the code to your puter. If you have never copy and pasted, it is really easy.

Here's how:

Set your cursor at the beginning of the text/code you want to copy to your computer. Now, hold down your left click button and scroll slowly down the text/code highlighting it as you go. Just highlight what you want to copy and eventually paste. This takes a tad bit of patience and practice, just take your time until you get the hang of it.

Once the text/code is highlighted, release the left click and, with the text/code highlighted, press Ctrl c on your keyboard. (Just press the Ctrl key and while holding it down, press the c.) You have now copied the text/code to your computer.

Once you have captured the code and have it in your puter, it is time to install that bad boy.

Go to your other browser with your blog up and you signed in. Since Blogger changed the Design feature (which I find highly annoying, but whatever...) I click New Post, then Dashboard. On Dashboard, I go to Design. When the page for making changes comes up:

Go to the top, under your title and click on the Add a Gadget. A box will open with a bunch of options.

Choose HTML/ JavaScript.  Open that box and in the big text box, paste the code that you captured from the background site.

Pasting is easy, too. Just click your cursor in the top left of the box, then press Ctrl v keys on your computer. (Press the Ctrl key and while holding it down, press v.) The code will appear in the box. (Sometimes it doesn't work and you will need to go back and recapture the code, just repeat the process, nothing to freak out over. :D)

Now click Save. And click View Blog and admire your pretty new background. :D

I will do a post on headers, soon. 'cause what good is a new background without a schnazzy header to go with it? :D

Instead Of...

...being an idiot, I should have come here, read your lovely, supportive and helpful comments and read blogs. I would have been so much better off.

Thank you for your caring and your support and I am going to flush with water, get some exercise and I will bounce back.

*Hugs* to all of you for taking the time and caring enough to rally around and help me. Without all of you, I would certainly be lost.

WTF Blogger???

Is anyone else clicking on blogs on your blogroll and finding that you no longer follow that blog? It is happening to me all the time. I have to keep clicking to follow because I am "not" following when I know that I am.

Is weird.

And I am a little tired of it.
