Weirdness... Couldn't get back into my blog for a while, there. I finally figured out how so now when it happens again, if it happens, again I won't be trapped out.
It's warming up. Mid eighties, we have had to turn on the air in the afternoons, it isn't super hot around here but because of the way this place is built the sun bakes down on us and turns this place into an oven in the afternoon and the air makes it more pleasant so on it goes. Add to the heat the fact that Smoke Man insists on blowing his obnoxious cigarette smoke all over the place and I don't enjoy the "fresh air" so much.
I want to move. Seriously. I am over this condo. And, since we had Sabryna put to sleep (on March 29th) we don't have to stay here any longer. Not really and I want to start looking. Seriously looking and I want to move.
William keeps talking about getting another dog. I don't want another dog, right now. Not in this condo and honestly, I am just not ready to add another dog to the family at the moment. I still miss my Velcro dog too much. But Mr. Stubborn keeps looking at dogs online. *sigh* I told him that when we find and move into the house that I want... Largish, single level (I am over stairs, thankyouverymuch!) bells and whistles that I crave, all hard surface floors and a large, securely fenced back yard, we will get another dog. I think that is a fair compromise.
I am healed up from my laproscopic gallbladder removal that wasn't in March. Hell of a thing, a surgeon not being able to find a person's gallbladder. I am not too surprised, it was a remote possibility, as it couldn't be imaged on the studies before surgery or on the CAT scan I had after. So, I still have that malfunctioning piece of shit in my bod making me miserable, now and again. *sigh* If it goes critical, we'll have to deal with it but for now, I'm just going to leave it be. I have a good prescription anti nausea med that I can take from time to time when I need it and other than some discomfort from time to time, it isn't too bad. I can live with it, for now.
I had a nice chat with my mother, yesterday, I called to wish her Happy Mother's Day and we talked for a good while. She is doing pretty well. Feeling good. I am going to respect her privacy and not go into too much detail here, but she had some treatments and is receiving some others and has some upcoming. She feels good and has had some good results. I am overjoyed by this, and thrilled at how well and strong her voice sounded on the phone, yesterday. I am hopeful that she is going to be with us for a long time to come.
On the migraine front:
Imitrex: Fail
Propranalol: Fail
Topomax: The Jury is Out. It is promising, We'll see.

I Gotz Weird Head Bonz
According to my doc, the way my bones are formed in my head and ears is the reason why my head is full of fluid, my ears are bulging, my face is swollen and I have constant post nasal drip. The drip and draining, but not proper draining is causing the swelling and irritation in my throat, puffing up my neck and my face and causing my ear pain. Good news is I don't have an infection. So I am now the proud owner of a pile of steroids, a seven day oral course and a long term commitment to nasal spray steroids.
Joy. I hate that nasal spray. Hate it so much that, in spite of the fact that when I used it, before it was beginning to work a little, I stopped because I didn't like how it made my nose feel. Well, I got chewed out (very nicely, of course, my doc is a total sweetie) and I actually caved and promised to keep using it, in spite of my dislike for it. We're giving these meds a month to see how I progress then if I don't, it's to the ENT for me. Fun times.
I am awaiting a referral to a surgeon for my gallbladder. It's time for that sucker to go. I am having increasing pain and I am shitting. All. Of. The. Time. Draz'z Explosive Man has noting on me, lately. Should be entertaining, getting that sucker yanked out. I am kind of looking forward to it. Having the pain, discomfort and other loverly symptoms go away would be welcome.
So, after I got done at the doc's, I popped into Walgreen's to pick up my scripts and I needed shampoo, conditioner and cotton rounds and some 91% alcohol. That was all I intended to get. Yeah... Right. I got my shampoo and conditioner. Then I saw a deep treatment that I wanted to try. Into the basket. Then I saw some Dove products, a "hair oil" (that is, in truth mostly silicone) and a detangling spray that were two for six dollars. Both went into the basket. Next, I went trolling through the makeup area. Ah! There is that new Wet-N-Wild eye primer. Why not? Oooo! That Loreal Infallible shadow I have been kind of lemming on... Yes! It's mine. Cruise past the Cover Girl... Hey! There is that new Clump Crusher mascara I am hearing such great things about! One tube in very black added to the haul. Then I grabbed cotton rounds and ovals and headed for the register. I thought I'd spend twenty bucks or so when I walked into the joint. I spent seventy-two. 0_0
And I forgot my fucking alcohol. And eye makeup remover. *sigh* If I had a brain, I'd be dangerous.
And another ten bucks poorer.
Damn, shit is expensive! Even in the drugstore.
My hair looks so jacked up, right now. I am in desperate need of a visit to my stylist. I'm scheduled for the 17th. I was supposed to go on the 4th but I had the plague and I like my stylist and I didn't want to give her my viri.
Oh. Shit. I forgot to get a flu shot.
Brain.
I haz none.

Well...
I don't know... Imitrex doesn't seem to be as effective as I had hoped. I took my dose the moment I had an aura but my head still hurt. Not as bad as usual but yeah... It still hurt. It is worse, this morning. I almost feel as if this is a rebound. I will rebound pretty hard after any pan reliever taken before or during a migraine. I am going to keep working with Imitrex for a bit and see if I can make it work but so far, I am not all that encouraged. Blast it. I'll discuss this with my doc next time I see her, which should be in the next few weeks or so... I need to have a confab with an ENT then go back to see my PCP and by then I should know if Imitrex is going to be my bitch or not.
It's a pretty morning. Sunny and up to 42, already. It is supposed to hit seventy for a high. Woo hoo! It should be a perfect afternoon to get out to the lake for a nice walk. I neeeeeed exercise. And fresh air. And out of this damned house.
My day is starting well, I've had my coffee and smoothie. Let's keep it on track until and through lunch, shall we? I am back to taking this hour by hour, meal by meal. I have sucked, strayed far off my path and I want to get back on it so it is time to re train my brain and my bod. Back to work. I still have a lot of it to do.
Okay, time to get my day started. Sunday... Can't help being lazy as shit on Sunday. :P

Ahhh... Coffee... Nectar of the Gods!
I am in the process of downing my third huge mug of the day. Maybe I'll get some energy and vibrate and be happy, now. Coffee rules. I don't care what anyone says.
So, doctor's visit went pretty well. I was freaking out over, it is pretty certain, nothing. I do have issues and I do need to see an ENT specialist but it is because of my constant nasal allergies wreaking havoc in my throat. I have pitting and swelling and irritation and my poor old tonsils are huge. So, things aren't happy in there. My doc gave me a 'script for a nasal steroid that should help. It should ease my constant nasal allergies, soothe my sinuses and even help with my horrible deep, dark circles. I have dark circles that no amount of corrector and concealer can cover. Apparently caused by my allergies. So, I should be feeling better, soon. And the ENT can do whatever needs to be done for my throat and tonsils and I will be feeling better for that, soon too. Yay.
I also talked to my doc about my headaches. I now have an official diagnosis of migraine and she gave me 'script for Imitrex. 50 mg. I am to take it when I get an aura and it should abort my headache. Boy, do I ever hope it works. I could use some pain free days.
My blood levels are good. My "bad cholesterol" is a tad high, but nothing to worry about, if I just get my ass back on track and get some consistent exercise. That is a good reason to get my shit together, no? Other than that, things are looking pretty good. So, once I get this throat issue solved, I will be a happier camper. But it looks as if I don't have any reason to freak out and I feel a huge sense of relief. *whew*
It is so chilly and incredibly windy, today. Brrr!!! But it is supposed to warm up really nicely, soon. Seventies by early week, then cool back into the sixties. I can live with that, fo shizz.
Hey, the first day of Spring is this month, kiddies! We also make the penultimate Ch. 13 payment, this month! Holy shit, this time, next month, it will almost all be done. Just the last payment and that last stupid legally mandated class (Thanks a lot, George W. Bush. You asshole.) and then discharge and our four year long nightmare will finally be over. From start to finish, this Ch. 13 has taken nearly four long fucking years. Anyone who dares to say to my face that bankruptcy is an easy out will get a face full of my fist, I swear to God.
Okay, Erika. Remember your blood pressure. *zen* *breathe* *ooohmmmmmm*
Still loving my hair colour. I am going to strand test and see if I can safely push my length a little lighter and banish more of the dark gold and the light reddish/strawberry tones. But yeah,,, Loving being a blonde, again. It just feels so right, so me. I am all for having the hair, whatever that hair might be that makes us happy. So, if you are a blonde, a brunette, a redhead or pink or purple haired in your heart, do it. Seriously. Life is too fucking short to not love your hair. :D
Think I'll have some lunch. I'm hongry.

Back From the Doc
And I have just one question...
Why do they have to poke and poke at the sore spot? I mean, first the tongue depressor, sharp edge gouging into my big old abscess. Ow! Ow! Ow! Me, pulling back, recoiling. Then the gloved finger goes in and poke, press, poke, again. Then the fingers, poking outside on my cheek. A couple of times. The "OW!" and the reflexive shrinking from touch isn't enough of a signal that you are hurting me? I mean, you can tell by looking that the thing that it has to hurt... But still, you need to poke.
And poke.
And poke.
Gah!
I know... A doc needs to get the full scope of the situation. And that means poking. I just needed to bitch a bit. lol
I am now the proud owner of a bottle full of Amoxycillin (or howeverthefuckyouspellthat) capsules. I have taken my initial double dose and I am hoping that this kills this infection, fast. And yes, I am going to find a dentist. And make an appointment. And go. I now have no choice, do I? My mouth is trying to tell me something and it is time to listen.
I have to tell you, tho... I would rather have a sleepover with the Evil Triad than go to the dentist. :P
I am a badass black widow stomping bitch. We got home and there was a black widow in a web in the corner of the garage. The big, strong, tough-guy men were standing there, looking at it, talking about Raid and shovels and all kinds of ways that they could kill it without having to actually go near it. About that time she headed down web to go hide in the crack at the base of the wall. When she got closer to the floor, I just stomped on her ass and dragged the black, nasty spider juice out across the garage floor.
Job done.
Black widow vanquished.
Big, strong, tough-guy men safe.
You should have seen their faces. lolol They were fascinated and horrified. And William couldn't believe that I actually stomped the bitch. Hey, I just wanted her dealt with. And I didn't want her making babies that could come crawling into my house in the time it took those two pussies to debate spider extermination tactics. So, I took care of her.
Guess it would have sucked if, instead of stomping on her, she had got up my pant leg...
I am going to get a cup of java and some lunch. I am hongry. And I need coffee. So, I'll talk to you later. :D

Kentucky Fried Fat Broad aka... Oops! I Did it Again!
Yup. Stupid woman here went out today and fried herself.
Again.
Some people just never learn.
I wanted to be like Draz, I guess. Forgetting, of course that I am substantially older, heavier and much more out of shape than she is. Doy! Going out to the lake late this morning and walking in direct sun and rapidly rising temps turned out to be a really, really bad idea.
It was nice when we left the house. Almost eighty. Not so bad... Really... Or so we thought. We forgot that the sun was beating directly down on dry, hard packed ground and reflecting up. The temps were rising fast and the humidity is up a bit. Remember last Summer when we were stupid enough to hit the tails on a day like that? Well, it was worse, today. And I started out hard and fast. I had great tunes in my ears, I was rested and ready to roll, my feet were happier then a couple of pigs in shit in my fab new shoes and I just wanted to fly.
I started out in a fast walk and lifted into running for a little while. I still can't run far, but I was hauling some ass. Dropped into a walk when I couldn't run any longer and kept my pace fast. William couldn't catch up or keep up with me. A little over a mile from the car, I stopped under a tree to have a little drinkie-poo and hit the wall.
Hard.
I almost hit the deck.
I really wanted to go on to the park gate, but my bod was screaming no at me, so we turned around and headed back. The climb back up on the way back was a little slower than the climb then downhill out. At the bench about a half mile or so from the car, I had to stop and sit down. How embarrassing. I was having trouble breathing and my lips were numb and I stopped sweating. I sat there for a good ten minutes or so, William dumping his water all down my back to try to cool me down and drinking water. A lady going by on a bike asked me if I was okay and if I needed more water. Humiliation, again. Fat broad, fried, sitting in all her fat splendor on a bench, red and puffing. Nice. Jabba the Hut in a layered tank top, leggings and a stupid looking hand crocheted sash like thing holding my stuff, all worn out and resting. Gah!
After a while, I slowly made my way, with William's help back to the Jeep. By the time we got there, I could barely climb in and fasten my seat belt. I was weak, trembling, hyperventilating and my vision kept going crossed. I couldn't slow my breathing and I couldn't cool down.
I leaned into the air vents and tried to cool down but it was as if my inner thermostat was on the fritz and I kept getting hotter and having more trouble breathing. We stopped at Jacob's Well to fill water jugs and our water bottles and I kept putting down bottle after bottle and the water was just not doing anything for me. I started shaking, hard and I still wasn't sweating. My head suddenly started pounding hard and I had sparkles in my field of vision. This continued until we go home. I still don't know how I managed to get out of the car, into the house and up the stairs. Sheer force of will, I suppose. I was so weak I could barely walk and my vision was so crossed and the sparkles were so thick, I could barely see.
William fired up the A/C, brought Patrick's fan into the living room, brought me wet cloths, baggies full of ice and cold water. He took my shoes and socks off, to cool my feet and I sat there, with wet cloths and bags of ice on my chest and head, sipping cold water, sitting right under an air vent and fan for a good half hour before I started to feel cool and my breathing and vision normalized.
I should have probably sought medical attention. In fact, I think I remember mentioning it to William. But I just came home. As I started feeling better, I figured that in the ER, they would have done for me the same thing I did at home; cool me down and hydrate the hell out of me. They would have added oxygen, to slow and ease my breathing, but in time I was able to do that on my own. All those years of controlling my breathing when my asthma kicks up paid off, in the long run. :) It took a good hour for me to feel well enough to go downstairs and take a nice, cool shower. Now, a few hours later, I am just fine. I had lots more water and am still gulping it like it is going out of style and I had lunch and, yeah. I am just fine, now. :D
I think I came very close to full on heat stroke, this time around. Lesson learned. No more running until I am lighter. Seriously, my bod can't take it right now, even if my brain thinks it can! And, even more importantly, no more walking at the lake in the middle of the frakking morning in the Summer in the sun. I can't take it. I know that a lot of people can exert in that kind of heat in the sun, but I just can't take it. From now on until the weather cools substantially, Mama goes out to walk in the evening. lol
I can walk in the sun when the temperature is cool, just fine. It is when it is hot that I can't tolerate it.
One good thing that happened, I gave my new shoes a good run in. And I love them. They are so comfortable and supportive, they flex and roll with my natural stride, they have a little spring to them and boy, can I ever move my ass in those shoes! As I said earlier, William had a tough time keeping up with me, for a while, there. The difference between these shoes and my old ones are like having wings or concrete blocks on my feet. I didn't know that I could walk so easily, freely, with my feet so coddled and cradled. No more letting my shoes get old and broken down. From now on, I am getting new walkers (well, runners, actually! ;)) every six months or so. The difference is definitely worth the expense, IMO. And, Sears always has athletic shoes on sale, so it will hardly break the bank.
William was fine... A little singed and hot, he needs white t shirts and shorts and some new shoes, himself. He decided that after roasting in a heavy black polo and black jeans, today. lol Mr. Heatproof wasn't all that comfortable. And he would be much happier walking with better shoes, too. The ones he has aren't bad, but they aren't great for distance walking.
So, that was what happened, today. I am an idiot. I didn't listen to my intuition that was screaming at me to wait until this evening to go walking. And I got fried.
Lesson learned.
Until next year? :p
I ate well, yesterday. Came in under 1400. Food is good, today as well. I am drinking lots more water, again. And that helps. A lot.
Okay, I have to run to the bathroom. Again. lol
Again.
Some people just never learn.

Again. lol

Crazy
I am sitting here going crazy. I took the prescribed dosage (1/2 tablet) of Lasix yesterday and today? I am even puffier. Arrrgh!!! Today I bumped the dosage to a whole tablet. This shit has to work. It just has to. I can't do this shit. I am so tired of it. I just want my legs to look and feel normal. I want my hands to not swell. Is that too fucking much to ask? Am I demanding too much, not wanting to be swollen, my weight wildly flying all over the place? Is it too fucking much to have a consistent drop in weight, to reflect the work I do without puffing up and staying in the same place for weeks at a time?
*sigh* I know I did this to myself. I get that and I take responsibility. But I think I have earned improvement. And I want it, damn it!
Thus ends my poor little me rant for today. :P
So, I tried to transfer my music from my 'puter to my phone. Turns out I need a SD memory card. *sigh* That won't be in my budget until the 11th. Bummer. Oh well. I'll get a big, fat storage capacity so that I can download books onto my phone, too. That should salve my hurt widdle feelings very nicely. Oh! And I finally figured out how to move my apps from the roll list to my home panes. Turns out to be a snap. I also figured out how to move them around in their pane or move them from pane to pane. Fun. And I can't seem to leave them in their chosen spots. I am always shifting them around.
That Robo Stir thing looks like a piece of junk. Most things that need to be stirred constantly need to be kept moving and that thing looks as if it basically sits in one spot, leaving the food to stick and burn in the rest of the pan. Waste of money, if you ask me.
I am on track with food and water. I am about to start in on my third two quart pitcher of the day. *slosh*
Okay, I think that is all I had to yap about, at the moment.

Home From the Doctor
And the verdict is...
I am astonishingly healthy. :D I do have a few issues but they are controllable, easily handled. All of my blood work checked out very well. My cholesterol is 177. I almost fainted dead on the floor when she told me that! My cholesterol was 240 when I was 24. So, I am older and heavier but my cholesterol is normal. :D My "good cholesterol" number is a little low, but it is not worrisome and will increase and improve as I continue to lose weight, eat right and exercise. My liver functions are right on the money, kidneys are perfect.
I was tested for diabetes and happily, I don't have diabetes. My blood sugar is perfectly normal. (Whew!!!!! :D) No anemia, thyroid function is good. I am vitamin D deficient and will have to take a high potency prescription and a lower OTC vitamin D supplements for the rest of my life.
My blood pressure is perfect. In fact, it is a tiny shade low. This gives me hope that I can dump the Lisinopril one day soon. I discussed the terrible puffiness I suffer with my doctor and showed her my poor, swollen legs. She prescribed Lasix and a high potency prescription potassium I have to take with it when I need it. I can use it at my discretion. Hopefully, this will banish the Puff Monster from my life. ***pleasepleaseplease***
My heart and lungs are good. My lungs are nice and clear, once again and my doc has cleared me to exercise. Yay!
My spleen is slightly enlarged. My doctor isn't too concerned about it, at this point. She is pretty sure it is due to my current weight and isn't worried and sees no reason to chase zebras, at present. We will keep an eye on it and see how it goes, as I go. My gallbladder is chronic. And will have to come out, sooner or later. Unless I have an acute attack, she wants to send me to a surgeon after I reach 250 pounds. Which is fine with me. It isn't acute, right this moment and the lower your weight, the safer surgery tends to be. I am content to wait. I do have stones in my common bile duct but they aren't causing me too terribly much grief at present so... I am good, for now.
So, yeah... She told me that I am doing everything exactly right and to just keep on doing what I am doing. That is validation to me that capping my calories, drinking a gracious plenty of water, exercise and digging the shit out of my head and heart is a damned effective way to lose weight, get a healthy body and a calmer, clearer, happier mind. And, unless I have a specific problem, I don't need to go back to my doctor for six months.
I am pretty damned pleased, today. And pretty damned pleased with myself.
They forgot to weigh me. They just went by my last Sunday weigh in. lolol
It is colder than a witch's lunch bucket today. Windy and crystal clear. It was seventeen, an hour ago. I had to run the furnace, last night, this house was freezing. Marley actually climbed under the covers and curled up against me to get warm. lol My furnace was on, earlier and my fireplace is going, right now and I am still chilly. I may fire up my heat just long enough to warm it up a bit more. I have goosebumps all over.
I also have housework to get done. Not too much, the place actually looks pretty good. I am halfway tempted to be a total slacker, today. I might just have to do that... ^^
Okay, I need to fetch myself some more water. I'll catch all you losers (I totally mean that as an endearment and a complement!) later.

Tuesday Evening
Thank you all for your sweet comments. *hugs everyone*
I have had headaches all of my life. When I was a child, I would sit in the classroom, trying to concentrate on the blackboard and what my teacher was saying while my head pounded and my brain throbbed and pulsed. Sometimes my vision would go wonky and all I could do was put my head down and bury it in my arms to shut out the world. My teacher would come by, poke me in the shoulder, snap at me to straighten up and pay attention and on it would go. I would beg my mother to let me stay home because my head hurt. No dice. I don't blame her... Really I don't. It wasn't until I was an adult and we were discussing headaches one day and what I went through as a child that she finally believed that I was actually having them, not using them as an excuse to get out of chores or school. lol
I will definitely ask about that diuretic. If it can banish the Puff Monster from my life, I will be all over it. :D
I finally got all my laundry done. Took a while and since I started it later than I normally do, it felt like an all day project. Laundry is sooo much fun.
Day one with my new foundation and so far... So good. I'll give it a few days, tho and see how I really feel about it. I do know that this concealer isn't going to be the thing. It is fair when first applied but by late this afternoon, it was sunk in and my dark circles had come back out to play. I'll continue to use it until it is gone, but the search for the perfect concealer to banish my dark circles continues.
Okay, I need to go wash my face. I have enough calories left for a nice little snackipoo. Maybe a Skinny Cow? I am in the mood for something sweet.
'Night, all. *kisses*

Release the Kraken!
Thank you, everyone for your lovely comments, yesterday. :D Today is a better day.
I ended up at just over 600 calories for the day, yesterday. I just wasn't all that hungry, then I ate a big pile of broccoli. Too much, it turns out as I got sicker than a dog, gas that wanted to kill me. Ugh! I definitely couldn't eat anything after that. Just the thought of broccoli right now makes me shudder. It will probably be a while before I eat broccoli, again.
My husband has to die. He brought home Doritos. Put them in my pantry in my kitchen. What the fuck was he thinking? He knows those things are crack in a mylar bag to me. *sigh* Seriously, did he really need to bring those damned things in the house? I just need to steer clear. I can do it.
Food and water are on track. Other than the evil in the pantry, I am good, today. Head is calm, I am level. Water, lots and lots of water help, I admit. And I am looking forward to a good weigh in this coming Sunday.
I am also looking forward to seeing my doc on the second of next month. I don't know what is with my chest, lately. Just making my bed or vacuuming my broadloom leaves me gasping for breath, coughing, chest rattling. I am hoping that she can help me to feel better, breathe better and get back to a more active life. I miss being able to do my housework, walk, climb my stairs. I am so. sick. of. being. sick!!!!! Efuckingnuff, already.
It is a pretty, sunny day. Crisp and cool but it should warm up a little, this afternoon. I am looking forward to Spring. My hands are beginning to itch to dig in rich, dark soil, plant flowers, water them, nurture them and watch them grow and bloom. I can't grow food to save my life. But I can rock flowers. Except snapdragons. For some really weird reason, snapdragons and I don't get along. I follow the directions for growing them and they die on me. Every time. It is going to be nice to have warm days, breezes blowing through my home, no more shivering. Until it gets really hot and humid and I start bitching about that. ;) :P
My headache has calmed down a lot. I am hurting, but my brain isn't vibrating and throbbing, today. An improvement, to be sure.
I need to go take a shower and do my nails. Hmmm... What colour do I want to wear, today? :D

Ravenous, Dying of Thirst and Craving My Coffee
That is how my day went. *sigh* I was NPO for that stupid hida scan and could have no food, water or coffee. My appointment was for nine, this morning. I thought I would be in, out and home, slurping my first cup of java.
Ha! That's what I get for thinking!
I get there, it took forever to get my orders because they put today's test on my last visit's account and that is, apparently a big no-no. So that had to get straightened out. Then I had to wait for a half hour to be called in to nuclear medicine. I got my little IV port and shot with the radioactive goodies, (sadly, no superpowers, waaahhh!) then into the scanner. For an hour and a half. No gallbladder. It didn't want to come out and play.
So, out of the scanner and off to the waiting room to cool my radioactive heels for an hour, then back into the scanner.
Still no gallbladder.
Out of the scanner. Out to sit and read and roast in that overheated waiting room for another hour and a half. I couldn't go home because my asshole husband had a call to go to and he got snaggy with me when I told him I wasn't done and had to go back and it was a huge dustup. Not my fucking fault, but he sure made me feel like shit for putting him through all of that waiting, back and forth and missing bits of work. I told him to go back to work and go to hell. I would just sit in the waiting room for an hour and a half, again and he didn't need to worry about it, and I would walk the fuck home, too so that he didn't have to take his precious time to come back and pick me up! And I jumped out of the car, while it was moving and stalked back to the main entrance and planted my fat ass in the waiting room and seethed. And waited. Of course, he came slithering in, manipulated me into calming down and calling him when I was done, then I snapped at him to just go back to work and leave me the hell alone. He did. I waited.
Then at 1:30 it was back into the frakking scanner. Then I was finally done and the asshole picked me up and brought me home and acted as if everything was just lovely and friendly and nothing had gone wrong.
Whatever. I can tolerate it for as long as I need to.
So, I am finally home and happily slurping coffee and water. Then, I am going to make myself a big, healthy lunch and chow down. "Cause I be hongry.
NPO sucks. Mine lasted from 8:30 last night to just a few minutes ago. The no food thing wasn't that big a deal. I can go food free for a while, if I have to. But no water? No coffee? That is just wrong. On so many levels.
I chipped a nail, dammit! Now I have to try to file it so that the chip is minimized until it grows out a bit and I can level the nail off, again. At lest it is on my right hand, so it won't interfere with my manicure photos for my nail blog. And isn't that what it is all about? lol
I had Jerkface (Willy Dog is officially Jerkface, today!) take a couple of quick pics of me, before he ran back out the door to work. My next fifty pounds down progress shots. They are in my Gallery. One, the side view is a bit out of focus but I didn't dare ask for another shot. It would have just been toooooooooooooooo much. So, it is what it is.
Yes, in case you hadn't noticed, Jerkface is in the doghouse. And there he shall stay for a while. I am sick of his manipulative, blaming , passive aggressive bullshit. Since I have to continue to tolerate it for the foreseeable future, I reserve the right to be pissed at him and vent it here.
Okay, I want another cup of coffee and my late lunch. I'll see you all later.
Don't forget to click on my Gallery and see my progress shots. I actually see a difference, this time around. :D
I wonder if my pee is going to glow in the dark? :P

Time Keeps on Spinning, Spinning, Spinning, Into the Future
Hello all. Don't know where the time went, yesterday. One minute I am thinking about typing up an entry and the next, I got distracted and poof! It is this morning. lol
Weird how that works, eh?
Yesterday's ultrasound went well. I was in, registered (we did most of it over the phone, so she just had to print and I had to sign, when I got there) and then whisked into the room for the test all before I could open my book. Impressive. Usually, you are kept waiting around forevah! I hope that it goes as fast and smooth when I go in for my Hida Scan on the 25th.
Drink your damned water, Erika. I am a little behind on the water slurping, right now. Need to get to it. I got a little lazy about it when I had the 'flu and that sore throat. Well, I am recovering from that 'flu and my throat isn't sore anymore so... No excuses. Just slurping. lol
I am feeling so much more human, this morning. My voice is almost back to normal, my throat feels nearly perfect, again, I am coughing a lot less, the horrid, constant rattling is gone (thank God!) my beak isn't as stuffed. I have more energy and I am merely coughing after exertion, rather than hacking up a lung. Progress, indeed. I don't wish this 'flu on anyone. It was miserable. And I just want to feel healthy, again.
Food and water were on track, yesterday. I ended up going over by 50 calories... My dinner prep got a little waya from me, I underestimated calories while cooking. *hangs head* Need to be a little more careful. I don't like breaking my 1200 cap. Once I shake this stupid cough, I can start walking, again. Heaven knows, the weather around here will be nice for it. Upper fifties, even a few forays into sixty or above. Pretty nice for Winter. :D
Sunday is weigh in day already. I am interested to see how much more is gone. I like seeing those numbers steadily dropping. 'Tis a pretty, pretty sight.
Okay, I am getting hungry so I think I will toss a little late brekkie together. And I want to read blogs and see what you all are up to.

Meezathinking I Might Just Live
Good morning, gentle readers. Today I feel as if I have finally turned the corner on this 'flu. My throat, which has been so sore for so many days is finally calmed enough that I can drink my water, again. My temperature is down and I have a tad bit more energy. The congestion is easing a little, too. I still can't walk around too much without wanting to feel as if I am going to hack up a lung, but at least I can cough without searing pain or choking.
I am drinking water at a pretty terrific rate. It feels so good to hydrate myself, again. I did the best I could with hot tea and soup but those just don't make up for the water my bod needs. Lordy, if feels good to swallow, again. lol
Food yesterday was good. Right on track at 1205. I'll be able to get my full water in, today.
It is a gorgeous day, here. It is going to be around seventy, today. I am planning chicken for dinner and since it is such a beautiful day, I might grill mine. I haven't fired up my grill in a while and I am craving grilled chicken. Yum! I think that I will have a nice, fresh salad and thaw that shrimp I have in the freezer for lunch. Time to get some serious protein in and let my bod heal and recover. I am hoping that in a week or so I will be ready to finally begin walking. If the weather stays this lovely, it will certainly be perfect for that. :D
I need to cut out coupons and I think I will do my nails, in a bit, too. I have been wearing the same polish since the eleventh. And while it still looks okay, I am getting tired of the colour and want a change.
Okay, I am going to run along. I'll see you all, later. :)

Well, That Was Fun
Nothing like spending the morning in the doctor's office. But I needed to. I have actually never had a primary care doc. I have always just gone to this doc or that doc to address a specific issue or other. I needed to get out of that mindset and get real and more proactive, rather than just reactive about my health care. So, now I have a doc. She is great. Very nice, laid back, easy to talk to, listens pretty well. Listening is a skill I honestly believe needs to be addressed and stressed when doctors are in training. Few actually have great listening skills. But my doc does a little better than average. She took a good bit of time with me, didn't make me feel as if she were rushing me at all. I appreciate that. My insurance is paying her very good money, I want their money's worth. :D
My heart and lungs are good, my BP was perfect. I had a bunch of blood drawn for labs (it has been forever since I had any done) and I have to go have an abdominal ultrasound and a gallbladder series and test done. Joy. That should be fun. :P It needs to be done, so I will get at it. Blech!
I got home and I was starving. I figured that they would want to draw blood for labs so I didn't eat brekkie or drink any coffee, this morning. Only water and sugar free breath mints. I wasn't even hungry until I walked back in my door. When I did, I was suddenly ravenous. Now, in my old life, I would have just gone whole hog and eaten my kitchen in extinction. After all, I had fasted, I had been to the doctor. I deserved a treat, didn't I? Uh... No. Going to the doc and fasting for the morning doesn't mean I get to eat like an idiot. I had a mug of coffee and a toasted whole wheat sandwich thin with a Tablespoon of natural (no sugar) peanut butter split up and spread on each half. It is amazing how far one Tablespoon of peanut butter goes. :D With my water, I am good, for right now. I'll have a late lunch, later when I get hungry.
Sherry, I never thought that I would say this, but your body really does adjust to increased water intake. When you first start drinking lots and lots of water, you pee constantly. All day and all night long. It is annoying, you burn through a semi truck load of toilet paper in a week. When I accelerated my water intake, I went to a gallon, then to six quarts. At first, I was up every hour to pee all night long and running to the bathroom at least every half hour all day long. Then, my body seemed to say, "Okay, this is what is going to happen, now." and it adjusts. I am now only getting up to pee once or twice a night, the same as before I really went water-wild. I also pee less frequently during the day than I was, at first. But I won't lie to you, I am still peeing frequently during the day. lol And funnily enough, I can drink a lot, go out and about and not be searching for every ladies room in town while I am out. Slugging all that water down every day is a job. I should be getting paid for it. lol But I now need that water. If I don't get it, I am not a happy camper. I feel dehydrated and cranky. Water has gone from my nemesis to my bestest friend. I even take a big tumbler to bed with me and it is usually empty by morning. :D
It is a pretty day, today. It is sunny, supposed to be in the upper fifties. In fact, it is supposed to be unusually nice for the rest of the week. Methinks is is time to get out for a walk. My rash and my bra got along fairly well, today so I think I am ready to hit the road. :D
Okay, I need to run and pee. Yay, water! And I have laundry to attend to and I want to read blogs and see what all you fine people are up to, today.
Later.

An Hour and a Half
That is how long I waited in the waiting room to see the doc for about... sixty seconds. Maybe. I am recovering nicely. My residual back discomfort should fade in time and my shingles rash is beginning to ebb away and heal. Once the areas that are rubbed and made sore by wearing a bra are healed enough, I would guess in a few days, I will be good to hit the road and start walking. :D
Finally. By then, the ice covered spots on my sidewalk should also be thawed and clear, too. I'm looking forward to getting out and logging some miles, again.
My blood pressure was spot on normal. And to be honest, I can't remember if I took my BP med, this morning. *shrugs* I'll keep taking it until I talk to my new doc about it on Wednesday. If my pressure is okay without it, I would just as soon not continue with it.
Food is right on track. I have almost 200 calories left to play with. My water is almost all done. I was thrown off schedule by having to leave for a while, but I drank up plenty before I left so I didn't dry out. Phase Four is agreeing with me quite nicely. I'ma like it.
Okay, I don't really have much to babble about, right now. I have my fireplace on and am waiting for it to warm me up. It is chilly-chilly tonight. I am going to cut out coupons.
Talk you you, later. :D

Feeling Good
This is how Feeling Good is done. By the master. Enjoy. :D
Okay, so how's everyone? All is well, here. It is a sunny day in my realm. Chilly, but thankfully the snow and ice are swiftly melting. My sidewalks where I like to walk are just about clear of ice, tho they are covered in gravel from the snowplows. Time for the city to clean them off. I need to walk, so they need to get busy.
I am nicely on track with my food and water. In fact, I am ahead on my water and need to slow down a tad, so that I don't end my day dry. I did a warm up today and did squats, lunges and upper body toning with light weights. The upper bod exercises are going to be a hit. The squats and lunges, not so much. My left knee is hamburger. Frakkity frak. Cardio and upper body exercises are going to have to do me for the foreseeable future. I need to be able to walk and to get up and down my stairs and so forth. I can't do that with a knee that is screaming at me. Some of us have physical limitations. We just have to work within them to get the results we want. I can get my results. Within my scope of ability.
I am going to pop over to the Urgent Care this evening for my followup. I am feeling a lot better. I still have some discomfort in my back, but it is nowhere near the pain and the spasms I was having. The rash is still there, but it is less tender, less painful. I still have some discomfort when I move my arm or wear a bra, but it is also receding. My nerves are firing a little funny now and again, and I am aware that it will take some time for me to recover fully. But I have turned the corner and I am getting better. Yay. :D
I have an appointment with a primary care doc on Wednesday morning. Yepper. I am finally going to get me my very own doc. I suppose it is about time. I imagine that she is going to want to turn me inside out and upside down, run a bunch of tests and poke and prod me into next week. I suppose I have it coming... Not having a primary care doc before this. Should be fun. :P
I need to go get in the shower. I have to get ready to go out and I need to warm up, too. Chilly outside, chilly in this house, too. I am trying to run the heat as little as possible, since natural gas, like electricity around here is outrageously expensive.
Okay, see you all, later.

Real Jeans
Not the super stretchy, elasticized waist feans. (Faux jeans.) But the kind with a fixed waistband and a button and zip. I wore them, today. :D It felt good. It felt really good. The last time I had on a pair of real jeans was 1993. Since then, it has been feans, all the way. And it always made me sad. It always made me feel different, separated, not as good, less.
I don't have to feel like that, anymore. As anyone who reads regularly knows, I received a couple of pair of Venetzia jeans from a lovely, generous fellow blogger a while back. When I first unpacked them I tried them on. And was delighted to actually get them on and fastened. But they were far too tight. They didn't look well and I couldn't sit down in them. No way would I even consider wearing them out of my house. I packed one pair away in my "future clothes" container and the other pair went into a drawer to hang out while I worked on losing more flab. Every now and again I would take them out and try them on. Every time I did, I got a little bit closer to them fitting me properly. I knew that some day I would be able to put them on, they would look good and I would wlk out my door in them.
Today was that day. I was getting ready to run out to the store and I thought that, just for shits and giggles, I would try my jeans. See if I was any closer. With half held breath, I pulled them out of the drawer, placed one foot in a leg and puled them a little way up. Put the other foot through the other leg and pulled them easily, smoothly up my legs, up over my hips until they settled right in at my waistline. No wiggling, no bouncing, to tugging, no chipped nails. I brought the two sides together without sucking in, tugging or having to apply any force. The button slipped right into it's waiting buttonhole, the zipper went up. I actually had a little room in the waist! :D
Gentle readers, I wore those jeans, today. They were comfortable, they looked nice and they felt wonderful. The size? Size seven or 26-28. I know... That is a size that most of you started at. I had to lose almost a hundred pounds to wear that size. At my heaviest, I couldn't squeeze into a size 34WT pair of stretchy feans. I had to lose a bunch of weight to get into those. Then I had to lose more weight to get into my 32WT feans. I gave away the 34WTs. Guess it is time for the 32WTs to go, as well. I don't need them, anymore.
I don't want them, anymore. I never want to put them on, again.
I don't have to!
Geeze! I am so wordy! All that raggle baggle to say I wore a pair of jeans, today. Maybe I need to get over myself? lol
My food is good, today. I am right on track and I have 160 calories left to play with, if I so desire. Water is just about all done, too. It felt good to get out of the house and move around a bit, even if it was just to pop into a couple of stores. Not exactly heavy duty all out walking. But I think that I will be ready to get out there, very soon. I have a followup with the doc at the Urgent Care about my shingles tomorrow and I am hoping that he will give me the all clear to get out there.
Willy Dog has decided to get back on the bandwagon. He is eating 1600 calories a day and is giving up sugary soda. He has about seventy pounds to lose and if he stays on track and incorporates some exercise, he should be able to reach his goal (180) by June. He has asked me to help him and to track his calories so he knows where he is each day. He refuses to drink large amounts of water... He says it makes him sick to do so. Whatever. As long as he gets enough fluids one way or the other, cuts out the sugar packed soda and eats better, he will be doing himself a huge favour. He needs to dump the weight, last time he went to the doctor, he was told that he was boderline diabetic. This will be good for him.
Okay, so I suppose I have nattered on and on and on long enough.

Phase Four Week One Weigh In
Hello everyone. How are your enjoying your weekend? Mine has been good. Quiet but as I am slowly, steadily beginning to feel better, it is pretty good.
It got even better when I got on my scale, this morning. 302.0 Down 3.6 for the week. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
To be perfectly honest, I was hoping to have finally cracked that damned 300 pound floor. The one I have been digging and working toward for the last year. I am so. Close! I am pretty sure I will break through this week. My next weigh in should begin with a two. Not a three.
So. Close!
I am hoping that I am doing well enough to get the all clear from my doc to start walking, again. I am feeling the urge to get out there. Maybe that is my bod telling me that I am recovering. :D
Cup of java number one is down and water is following in fast succession. I am trying to decide between oatmeal and eggs for brekkie. I'll probably just get at either, when I next walk into my kitchen. I suck at making plans... :P
I just have to say this before I go, this morning. There has to be a special, extra horrible place in the deepest pits of hell for anyone who would run into a crowd and shoot and kill people because he has a problem with their politics. And that place has to be even extra torturous for the monster who would include in that rampage an innocent little nine year old girl. He is nothing but a terrorist. If anyone else was in on this with him, even in an accessory position, they are also nothing more than a terrorist. And they deserve to be caught, prosecuted to the fullest extent of Arizona law. And yes, in case you didn't know, we do have the death penalty in this state. And I am all for him/them dancing to that tune. Terrorism in any form, for any reason is utterly unacceptable and must be dealt with. Swiftly. Harshly.

Finished Strong
Greetings, Earthlings! I hope that you all had a great day.
I finished mine strong and had a great day. Calories for the day came in at 1181. I drank all of my water. I just had a little snackipoo of a cup of Cheerios and a half a cup of almond milk. 130 calories and a perfect little before bed yummy. I also needed a little something, since I get queasy if I take my meds on an empty stomach.
I felt better, earlier but I am hurting, tonight. I have spasms, again. I had to break down and take a Flexaril. Owie! I am so ready for this to be over with. I have no idea how long shingles lasts. Any time is too long, if you ask me. lol
All rightie, then. I think I am done yammering, for tonight. Goodnight, dearies.

Feeling a Little More Human, Now
Ahhh... That felt good. I needed it so. much!
Get your frakking minds out of the gutter. :P
I meant the long, hot shower I just took. I have been showering each day, just jumping in, getting clean really quick and getting out. I haven't been washing my hair. I was just combing it, putting it up and ignoring it and greaseball is a kind description of my head, by today. It felt wonderful to shampoo my manky assed head, condition my hair and comb it all out smooth. I added a little leave in to it after I got out and some shine spray and it is happily air drying on the top of the back of my sofa. I think. I think... That my weight loss induced shedding might just be slowing down. *fingers crossed* I am not finding quite as much hair in my comb and brush. *pleasepleaseplease!*
I did a bunch of housework, earlier including scrubbing down my nasty bathroom. I can't believe how filthy it was, in there and I couldn't stand it, any longer. Shingles be damned, I had to clean at least my toilet and sink. I didn't have it in me to scour the shower and tub, right now but the toidy and sink, faucet and mirrors are all sparkling clean. And my bathroom no longer announces it's presence as you walk into the hall. Yuk! :P
I also ran my vacuum, made my bed, cleaned up my kitchen. I thought about doing a load or two of laundry but I am tired, now and my back is beginning to howl a bit so I think I will save that until tomorrow. I think I have done enough for today.
Food is dead on target. Water is sliding down nicely.
Those of you in the path of this next snowstorm, I hope that you are all ready, stocked up, snugged in and your hatches are battened, Stay warm and stay safe, kiddies.
Get your frakking minds out of the gutter. :P
