Cynical Much?

Photobucket

However it shakes out, I am going to be so glad to see this election cycle end. I don't know about the rest of you but I am sick of it all. The long, endless campaigning and the relentless, nasty TV ads and phone calls have just about sent me over the edge. Election cycles have become bloated, soul sucking monsters; too long and too mean. It is all out of control and both major parties are equally to blame. This election is important but I can't even muster up my usual enthusiasm to get out and vote.

I just can't make myself do it. I am fed up, disillusioned and cynical.

I am sitting this one out, folks.

  1. I hear you. I feel bad about it to because I just feel like I should but I can't bring myself to it.

I also feel like I should say that I have enjoyed reading/creeping (since I never comment) on your blog. Good luck on the challenges :D.

  2. Oh no - you MUST vote. If not for you - do it for all the impoverished nations where people can't vote or would die to vote or do it in honor of our troops who fought for our right to vote. I know how you feel - it's terrible - BUT if I don't vote then I can't complain about who wins! LOL I'm off the soapbox now...please vote IQ....

  3. Oh I feel your pain. I live in CT where Linda McMahon CEO of World Wrestling is running and the ads are ugly on both sides and I can't wait for it to be over. I will be heading out to vote in the next few hours. I am a government teacher so Ideally I just thing that everyone should vote all the time.

If you ever have a moment you should watch the election special South Park it is hysterical and a great discussion on American Politics (not to mention so frigign funny)

  4. Oh I completely agree that the negative ads are sickening...yes, indeed.

However....please, please re-consider on not voting today. It's such a precious right...one that we should never shun or take for granted. I hope you'll change your mind girl. It's just so important. :)

  5. I know it's horrible, but I didn't vote today either. I'm so sick of this crap too- but I haven't admitted to anyone yet because I know it's horrible. Both candidates here in CA suck. I'm tired of trying to pick the lesser of two evils.

  6. I agree about the long campaign stuff. But, there is one candidate in my district that needs my vote. So no sitting out for me.
