My New Little Addiction

Hi everyone! I hope that you all had a great day and are staying cool. :D

Okay, I am probably the last person on the Blogosphere to try The Laughing Cow wedges. Why, oh, why! did I wait so long?

Part of it is that I was afraid. I mean, light? Swiss? Spreadable? Didn't sound all that great to me. And let's face it, the little round of wedges isn't exactly cheap. But after all of the raving I have read here and there and everywhere, I finally decided that today was the day to take the plunge.

It didn't hurt that Fry's had it marked down a little bit and I had a coupon. So, I bought me some Laughing Cow, brought it home and decided to take it for a test drive.

But with what?

Mmm... How about a few pretzel sticks?

Yeah. Pretzel sticks.

So, I got a few pretzel sticks, opened up a wedge and started in. Yum! Mild, creamy and pleasant to eat. I like.

Later, I decided to have another wedge on my steamed summer squash.

I think I just created a monster. lol

I have also been rethinking Thursdays. Frankly, I think I am over the weekly Subway nosh. Don't get me wrong, I like Subway and will continue to eat some, now and again but this weekly sandwich thing is not doing me any favours. I have been splurging on 12" sandwiches with avocado and cheese and light mayo and that adds up to a lot of calories. Calories that slide altogether too easily down the old throat. 900 calories is a lot to expend on one meal, even on a higher calorie day. So, the subs will be a treat for days when we go out and I need something healthy and yummy and don't want to be tempted by say... Burgers.

I think that from now on, Subway Thursday is going to just be Thursday.

And I am perfectly happy with this decision. :D

  1. Laughing cow is great:) Even better on sale lol

  2. You go girl! I am so proud of you. You could always cut it down to a 6" sub too. I know avocados are high in fat/calories but I think it is good fats, yes? (I don't know for sure, honestly, but think I heard that somewhere!) I haven't had a laughing cow in ages...but I do like their commercials!

  3. Yes, Laughing Cows are good! Our favorite is the lite garlic and herb! Cheese is one of my favorite things to snack on and I love how spreadable these are. Good decision on the Thursday thing, I hate to use up that many calories on one meal! Keep it up, you are doing great!

  4. Oh Laughing Cows - kind of addicting huh? Glad you found them.

  5. Love the Laughing Cows!

Good idea to let Thursday be Thursday. Or if it has to be Subway, eat a 6" sub and lose at least the cheese. Do you like mustard?

  6. For a filling but light calorie snack, I sometimes like celery with Giggling Moo. Mmmmm

Back when I ate bread, I'd take advantage of the price for a footlong Subway, then eat one for lunch and save the other for dinner. Just toast the bun at dinner, put the innards back on it, and it takes fresh all over again.

  7. That is a great idea, Loretta. :D

I just think it is better if I do a six or none, at all. If I get a twelve, I will polish it off. No question. lol

  8. I like Babybels too. Same company :)

  9. I've never tried the Laughing Cow cheese, now I want to.

  10. I love it - changing your routine up :) I love the Laughing Cow everything too but like you it took me awhile to try it!!

  11. I just found your blog and I enjoy your writing. So wanted to say hi! As far as laughing cow wedges.... YUM. Have you tried them on whole wheat pasta yet? I think you would like it, I use the garlic and herb :) Also great as a baked potato topper!
