Busted Down Old Cart Horse

Or so I thought...

My hip was singing tonight out on the trail and I thought for sure that I was seriously dragging ass. Turns out, my walk was done in 37 minutes. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all. :D

It was hot and humid, tonight but the humidity is beginning to dry up a bit, the sun was behind clouds and only peeked out after we were almost done and there was a nice breeze so it wasn't too bad. Still got a sweaty ass, tho.

Today I saw the first evidence that horse riders use the trails too. A big pile of road apples in the middle of the trail. Dude! When your horse takes a dump in the middle of the trail, jump down and kick it out of the way, can't you? Geesh!

So yeah... My hips. I need a couple of days off. So I am going to take them. This next week is going to be a little spotty in regards to walk opportunities I'll get as many miles as I can, starting Wednesday.

Lordy! I am tired. Hopefully I will get a nice, uninterrupted, centipede in my smoke detector free night of sleep. *yawn*

  1. I hope your hips feel better soon. Maybe you can find some "chair aerobics" to do to get the heart pumping as an alternative if you want to some days, too.

I've been trying to find a description or video for you of the exercises I do to help relieve the pain in my hips, but no luck so far. If you're completely desperate, I could probably film myself, but I dunno . . .that is not even in the same zip code as my comfort zone.

  2. I am trying to figure out centipede smoke detector reference...but am at a loss. That said, I suspect I will find out if I read on. Weird though, 'cause last night, in the middle of the night, two of the smoke detectors in this mobile home went off. No appliances running (AC was running though), we were asleep. Scared the peawoddly out of me. Nothing on fire and they stopped spontaneously and at the same time on their own. We have at least one smoke detector in each room; the one in the hallway and the one in the master bedroom are the two that went off. No chirping batteries either. Odd.

  5. Oh Lanie, that is sweet of you but unnecessary. I am fine, I just need a little rest and I will be back at it. I have to remember that no matter how hairy my head is to go, sometimes my poor old bod needs a day or two to rest up. :D

Sherry, we had a centipede in our smoke detector the other night and it was wiggling around in there and making it go off. WD had to take it down on it's wires and lure the bug out and get rid of it. lol

Hi Ariel! Welcome! I am so glad that you are hanging out. :D

Debbie, it is the darnedest thing, huh? I hate bugs. Seriously! lol My hips will be fine. They are just in the mood for a little rest. :D

  6. Erika, it's zule. I love your blog and getting to know you better. I had no idea your hips were bad, too. I just knew about your migraines. You must suffer a lot of pain. I'm sorry.

I hope they recuperate well and SOON.

  7. You are doing the right thing by taking a day or two of rest for the ole hip. With me it's usually the ole knee.
